The Salon
Several hundred years ago - the 17th and 18th Centuries in particular - salons were gatherings for people to discuss and debate the pressing topics and ideas of the day. Salons, in other words, were important places for people to meet in order to exchange views and learn from each other.
The Salon: A Rave for the Soul: Designed for the youth and children that participate in weekly Wednesday night gatherings, The Salon will take the place of the normal programming every first Wednesday of each month during the school year. That said, everyone is invited who might wish to try a new worshipping experience!
The Experience
The first Wednesday of every month during the school year, we invite you to a time of worship filled with song, prayer, and meaningful conversation. Our music is youth-friendly, featuring many songs from Montreat, and during our prayer time, everyone will have the chance to share the highs and lows of their week in a supportive, welcoming environment.
The most distinctive part of our Wednesday services is the "sermon." Rather than a traditional sermon prepared by a pastor, a member of our congregation is invited each month to share personal reflections on the scripture passage. From there, we encourage an open, interactive discussion, creating a space for organic, heartfelt conversation as we explore the scripture together.
